The brief

Replace towel-saving and paper lists with a flow guests trust: live availability, clear prices and a pass that works at the chair itself.

The approach

Treat sun and shade as data. One shade model feeds the map, the forecast strip and the filters, so guests choose how the afternoon will feel.

The system

Three surfaces, three modes: Light for the guest app, Sunlight for the kiosk and Night for the pool team, all from one set of tokens.

Guest app

Built around one idea: shade is something you can see. A sun dial under the map moves the palm shadows across the deck, so guests pick a chair for how it will feel at 2 PM, not just how it looks now.

Guests don’t pick a chair. They pick how the afternoon will feel.

Walk-up kiosk

Designed for a guest in sunglasses with wet hands. A pure-white Sunlight mode, 2.5 px chair outlines, 72 px minimum targets and a room-key tap in place of typing. Charges go straight to the folio, and the pass follows the guest by text.

Pool team console

A night-mode, bird’s-eye view of the deck for supervisors and attendants. Six chair states, issues ranked by urgency, and an inspection card with each chair’s day.
